The original Titanic was un-armed, I'd drop the turret. But the lack of life boats is very historical. And I would add bunkrooms, 4 or 6 to a "cabin" for steerage class (custom facilities).

Rules wise, the Power Plant needs to match or exceed the Jump Drive K. And you need a bridge and a computer.

Turret's a requirement for a mail ship, and it was RMS Titanic... RMS=Royal Mail Ship.

lol, I'll give you that :)

I vaguely remember a 2000AD strip, one of "Thargs Future Shocks" IIRC, featuring the sendoff of a new luxury space liner the Titan. I can't remember how the strip finished, but the ships full name was the Titan IC. No doubt the end was tragic...

Yes! It hit an asteroid, I remember it vividly...

Well I am still learning the ropes here and I still have the bridge and computer in my original papers. Namesake is for size and and possible Ill-fated demise....

Thanks for all the suggestions!

I will edit later due to difficulty of typing on this TL 9 hand computer...

Nicely done Mr Vargr.

As one of the consulting naval architects on this project I'm pleased to see you retained the volley-ball court. Important stuff first!

I suggest one of the stewards are required to act as coach and referee on-board.

I look forward in taking it's sister ship the New (New, New, New, New) Lusitania on a cruise through the Sword Worlds. What's the worst that could happen?

And the Medical Liner Britannic is set to travel through the coreward verge of the Solomani Confederation, calling at such worlds as Labrys, Odysseus, Aeneas, and Aristotle.

Power Plant needs to be equal to higher of JD or MD for CT-81... this may be a valid CT-77 design, but not a valid CT-81 design. (The XBoat was grandfathered, as it's impossible under CT-81...)

No offense, but an old 3k Aslan mercenary cruiser is larger than that, and probably accommodates as many bodies (all be they Aslan folk, armed to the teeth).

And Starkly Improbable under any system. ;)

Hans

Starkly Improbable is what Vargr specialize in. :oo:

I suggested he come up with the biggest liner that could still operate within Book III passenger and cargo system and work logically with our TU the 'Nyx Cluster'.

I still haven't ran the numbers on it, but I suspect the profitability is as dubious as its fusion power.

When I look at the ships I designed when I was 11, I was doing my best to fit Klingons into CT.... So I'm pretty pleased of the sketchy liner he designed.

Dodgy and messed up ships lead to serious ADVENTURE

Seriously? I read that long time back.

There's a cool comic Cravan that tries to fictionalize Traven's know and unknown life.

More good adventure threads...

I would read it again if I had the time, it's his best book IMO. I know someone who was totally into the mystery of who Traven was, that is a good tale in itself.

Well this Liner is designed to be luxurious and that cruiser is designed to blow craters in moons. :D

And it wouldnt be the Titanic without incorent calculations. :)
