Looking for an on-line game....

Hello,
I've been playing Mongoose Traveller for the past couple of years. Unfortunately and most understandably, my GM had to call a halt to the game. I though, need the distraction and fun in my life. I have the CT disk, TNE corebook and a bunch of mongoose books and am open for any of those versions. I am available pretty much any evening. If you are looking for another player to join your group or if you are starting a new game, please let me know.
Thank you, Mike

Mike, I'm sending you an email directly but wanted to post here too for anyone else...

I'm trying to put together a game like you are looking for using iTabletop. Anyone who doesn't wish to pay for a full account can just get the free one as I can have 11 "free" players in my games.

I am putting together a "Serenity Traveller" game, porting lots of ideas from Serenity under the 'Cortex' system to MGT. I am of course taking all the planets Joss Whedon had come up with but straightening out the 'verse to make a little more sense. Transit times/FTL will be adjusted so that it's less "traveller-ish"

Anyone interested is welcome to email me albiegamer (at gmail (dot com

EDIT:
Ok, Some details I've emailed out but haven't been clear on...
- Voice and Video conferencing
I am wanting everyone on voice. Dice rolling, tokens etc. through a VTT and voice handled either by the VTT or Skype. All free and work fine. Webcams are welcome but NOT required at all!

- iTableTop/Silvertable/iTableTop Pandoren
I have a Paid License for iTableTop, a great program but requires WinXP or the XP emulator for Win7. The new version (Silvertable/iTableTop Pandoren) is coming out of beta soon. My license is lifetime with the ability to have 11 people on the free/vanguard accounts play for no extra charge. I'm actually wanting to wait for Pandoren since it is browser based using Microsoft's "Silverlight" environment and so will run on any OS that has a Silverlight capable browser with Silverlight installed. Both handle all participants for voice and video conferencing.

- Day of the week
Right now I have or am working on games for M-Tu-SA real time (one game will either be M OR Tu so I have to keep both clear for now). Just about any other day of the week is open.

- Time of game/length
Well I'm USA, West Coast so that's GMT-8, PST, 3 hrs behind the USA east coast, and I forget how this relates to "Mars Median Time". I'm open for the "time" and don't care where people are located in the world. But I only speak English so it has to be an English based game.

- Setting/adventures
Firefly/Serenity. I've been working hard on a MGT version, lots of ideas taken from the Serenity Game/Cortex System but the 'verse is getting my own touch. Mainly I am taking each "planet" and making it a separate star system. Each will have a little more wiggle room and the distances make more sense. It won't be Traveller "Jumps" but a form of FTL that allows all the nice 'raid the derelict ship' stories and such to happen. I AM OPEN to it being on a Firerly (as I have imagined it) or another ship in the 'verse

- Available Material
All the MGT books are open for use at this point, the biggest issue is former "Browncoats" I have the basics worked out for some ideas, much of the stuff crosses over well enough but things like 'Mercenary' are tough as they are only available for like, problems between organizations or for an organization "handling business" on a low-level.

I think that's about it for now, without tossing out a lot of specifics that are only necessary when we are playing.

Thanks, Al B.

Hi, Al et al -

Talk about fortuitous timing! :) I've only recently gotten into learning Traveller, but I absolutely adore Firefly/Serenity and what you're describing seems right up my proverbial alley, so to speak. I've been looking for a tabletop locally but am coming up a bit dry.

If you're still looking, and willing to take on a relative newbie to the system, I'd be much obliged if we could chat. :) I'm in PST as well (Seattle) and am free evenings, generally, though I just moved and am kind of busy until the end of June with unpacking and cleaning and such.

I've been a gamer for a long time, primarily online and in text form, but I've a few years of live tabletop experience under my belt and I really like it. I do have access to the Mongoose Traveller core book, as well as the Serenity book (never played it, but have it in the house) and I'm pretty familiar with the 'Verse too.

Hope to hear from you! :)
