London Traveller?

That's London, UK. I'm in lovely Newham. Looking for a group to try Traveller with.

That's right - I am an absolute Traveller newb. Never played any version in a group, ever, so I have no commitment to any system. In fact, I have played no RPG of any sort for about 20 years (and I'm only 32).

I've downloaded some PDFs for CT, MT and T4, and mucked about with chargen and star system gen. I didn't like chargen in MT as much, and T4 was more interesting chargen than CT (although you all seem to hate T4). Also very much up for 2300AD, or 2320.

Right now, I'm more interested in char development and storytelling than being a rules hound, but who knows what will come out of the woodwork when the dice start rolling?!

Edit: I'm aware I just missed a get-together in Cambridge. Bah.

Hi there, I'm in Barnet in much the same position as you except I'm just exploring GURPS Traveller. Interested in joining a small group for the odd game.

If you are coming to Salute this weekend (Saturday 19th) out at the Excel Centre in Docklands, the BITS guys will be there (I'll be there too, but I'm working for Leisure Games that day).

Dragonmeet is months away yet (29th November), but its a really great show and you can play Traveller there. It is in Kensington Town Hall.

There is a group called Shadow Warriors out at Northfields in West London (www.shadow-warriors.co.uk). In North London there is the Finchley games club (http://finchleygamesclub.org/index.php). For East London there is a club in Plaistow called Phoenix (http://www.phoenixgamesclub.org.uk/). The Leisure Games website lists a couple of clubs in central London too, including one near Waterloo.

There is also the London Pub meet on the middle Sunday of each month at a Pub near Tottenham Court Road tube (http://community.livejournal.com/gameforce/). They seem to play a lot of boardgames, but they do run some RPGs. I keep meaning to get down to one of these and run some Traveller.

Finally, have you tried the UKRoleplayers boards (www.ukroleplayers.com)?
