Bootstrap Colony: a rare type of colony where the first generation population is transported with no technic resources to a virgin but inhabitable world. Sometimes dissident, sometimes survivalist, and sometimes as a punishment, bootstrap colonies start when a large group of people are granted an unpopulated Terra-norm or off-norm world to develop, but receive no technical assistance and take no technical items with them beyond TL 0.

Colonies which expect to survive beyond the initial population have skilled survivalists and technically knowledgeable historians, since the supermajority of surviving colonies achieve TL 3 well before the passing of the second generation, and most colonies continue to improve in the decades and centuries following.

Off-Norm World: a world that is on the edge of human-habitability without technic resources. Typical requirements are HYD 0-3 or A, and HYD 4-8, or HYD 0-A and ATM 9. Any size and any primary star is acceptable, as long as the Atmospheric and Hydrographic requirements are met. Tundric and Hellworlds qualify as Off-Norm worlds.

A couple of comments. Tech Level "0" covers a reasonable amount of Technology, including things like the plow, shovel, domesticated animals, pottery making, brick production, bow and arrows, spear throwers, agricultural crops, etc. Also, if someone has something resembling a set of Edwin Tunis books on early American, Colonial, and North America Indian technology, along with a copy of something like the Back to Basics book, they should progress pretty fast. Are they allowed to take seeds and animals with them?

Christopher Anvil wrote a fair number of stories about colonies on hazardous Earth-norm worlds. For that matter, Jules Verne's Mysterious Island would be another good source for such a colony.

Methinks something is awry here. You have too many HYD and not enough ATM. Also, I find "Tundra" worlds in T5.09 but no "Tundric". I do find "Hellworld".
