I've seen the trailer. These guys have guns, and the the Leviathan isn't all that big. Just hit it with a couple of 30mm cannon rounds from 1,000m away. A Bushmaster II should ruin it's whole day quite nicely (I'd go for a long round from a semi-auto cannon, with high muzzle velocity and penetration, rather than shorter lower range rounds from a rotary).

As for the clouds, has radar somehow got un-invented?

These things might be sensitive to Radar, and there might be reasons not to fill one full of HiVel.

There are other lifeforms in the clouds. You need a whole ecosystem to support those skywhales. The skin could be akin to a stealth coating.
