Welcome to the new COTI server. We've moved the Citizens to a new server. Please let us know in the COTI Website issue forum if you find any problems.
We, the systems administration staff, apologize for this unexpected outage of the boards. We have resolved the root cause of the problem and there should be no further disruptions.
On the Traveller Map there is this largish polity called the Kidunal Abeyance. It's located at the trailing end of the Hive Federation on its rimward border. Any information about it?
The term "abeyance" implies that rule over this state by the Federation has been suspended but may resume at some point. So has the Kidunal Abeyance seceded from the Federation? Or have the Hivers abandoned it for some reason?

I had permission from Leroy to copy all of the quadrant IV HIGW material into the Traveller Wiki, and did so before his earthlink pages disappeared into the wayback machine . He never wrote (or linked to) anything about the Abeyance.
If you find anything, or would like to write some, I have a place for it to be easily found.
I was just curious. The named worlds in the Abeyance have what appear to be Gurvin names so it piqued my interest. Perhaps it's a Gurvin-ruled client state, a counterpart to the Ithklur state at the other end of the Federation.
Leroy Gautney drew a map of Hiver space, and included the Kidunal Abeyance on it. I added to the map of Kidunal, but there appears to be no further information. His documents seem to be slowly disappearing from the Wayback Machine, so it is possible that they have been lost.
In game terms, the only information we have is from Hiver sources, so the names may have been transliterated into Gurvin (or even randomly generated in some Hiver manipluation!)
