Hello all,
Onno Meyer has posted the criteria for Contest 26:
On page 94, Sword Worlds tells us about the Ormen hin Lange, a
Danish name meaning "the Long Worm". For those who do not have
Sword Worlds: Ormen hin Lange is the traditional name for the
Gram Navy's most powerful battleship. The name was used again
and again over the centuries. The 8th ship of the name fought in
the Second Frontier War (615 to 620). She is a museum ship in
orbit around Gram and formally still commissioned. The 14th ship
of the name is currently in active service, a 500,000-ton
battleship.
Your task is to write up one of the other twelve ships. Since
many of them are quite old, any duplicate entry can be blamed on
bad historical records
I mailed Paul, Hans and Robert to ask if the Ormen hin Lange was
original material. Paul is 95% sure it is new but passed the
question to Hans. Hans didn't reply. I'll go with Paul's
recollection. If there is canon on any other Long Worm, just
pick a different one for your project.
Technical stuff:
* The deadline is Monday, August 2nd. (We're getting into the
summer vacations.)
* Send your entries to
onno.meyer@gmx.de
* Please submit any texts as plain text with 64 characters per
line. I have to re-format anything else.
* If there are pictures, I will host them on my web page for the
duration of the voting period.
* The entries will no longer be anonymous. The ballot stays
secret, of course.
Have fun,
Onno
