It had to happen

The odd thing is most of our hospitals demand you turn off pagers and cellphones inside for fear of interference with fancy diagnostic gear. Hence I have to wonder how much use this my entertain in the medical sense.

When they can make a decent reception cellular or satellite phone that can be as small as a silver dollar and have some workable interface (voice command, at a guess), that'll be impressive.

If the wi-fi nets on both ends are bridged thorugh the internet, would it then be possible for someone in California to say "Corporal Boyle" and be immediately connected with a Marine in Iraq?

That brings up the security issue. Will someone just be allowed to do that, even if it's possible?

Why some folks never consider the power plug or the off switch, a security device, is beyond me.
