Humans traveling in Aslani space

If an armed merchant ship travels from the Imperium through Verge sector (spinward) toward the Aslani Jump-5 route, would said vessel be allowed to travel and trade along this route across the rift & maybe through Hierate territory coreward into the Trojan Reaches?

What sort of problems would this Imperial registered ship have in being granted such access?

The Peace of Ftahalr presumably included provisions for the treatment of ships belonging to the signatories. The treaty was technically only between the Imperium and four of the biggest Aslan clans, the Hrawoao, the Khaukheairl, the Tralyeaeawi, and the Yerlyaruiwo, but the other clans respect it because doing otherwise would be an insult to the signatories, with predictable dire consequenses. Still, no Fteirle would be expected to put up with dishonorable behavior, and some clans would be more prone to take offense than others. The Ikhtealyo are friendly towards the Imperium because it does a lot of trade with it. Other clans are frankly hostile.

Anything ranging from the sort an American ship would encounter in an English port to what it would encounter in a Soviet Russian port. (i.e. anything from petty harrassment to really petty harrassment ;)).

Don't forget to add the whole clan layer on top. Yes, the Aslan Space may be open to an Imperial registered ship but it does not prevent separate clans being friendly or hostle. I have always played the Aslan like rival mafia families...relations may be cordial at the level of the ko or godfather but nothing stops a lower level clan member from acting somewhat independently.

Aslan come from a culture in which tribalism is a part of normal society, not an underground "sub-society" like the mafia. A better comparison might be Scottish clans in medieval times.
