How to download a poster from Traveller Poster Maker?

Hello!

Basically what it says in the title, I have been working on my own Sector (that I don't know where to share because it is only Pocket Empires) and planning to pass it to Foundry, but when I "save image" the resulting poster, it creates a PNG of 2 bits that doesn't open/throws an error.

So I come here to see if more technically oriented people can help me.

Can you explain your workflow in more detail so we can help determine where things are going wrong? Also, browser and OS details might help.
Of course!

I don't know how much of the workflow explain. Basically in the Traveller Map Poster Maker I put everything in place and generate de poster as a "bitmap (for screen)" as the other options are PDF or SVG, that can't be used for backgrounds in Foundry (and I don't know how to download a SVG neither)

I generate it with this array of options

1756670984586.png

And when generated, it produces the Poster in a PNG format, at least according to my browser.

Then I right click and "Save Image" [I'm a spanish speaker, so I'm not sure that is how it is called in English] in my desktop, and when I try to open the image it gives me an error that the image "contains errors" in the browser and "is not compatible" in the image viewer.

I'm using Firefox as a browser and Windows 10 as my OS.

I hope this help.

The good news is that I can reproduce the problem in Firefox 142 on macOS - after clicking "Render Poster" I see the image correctly in a tab, when when I right click and select "Save Image As..." and enter a name, the resulting file is only 22 bytes.

The problem does not occur in Chrome or Safari. This appears to be a bug in Firefox; after all, it has downloaded and is correctly displaying the image.

For the technically inclined: the image is fetched via HTTP POST which sends the sector data to the server to render it. It seems that when "Save Image As..." is selected in Firefox it makes a second HTTP POST but does not send the data, resulting in an error "No sector specified." which is the text that gets saved in the small file!

Digging slightly deeper, it seems like Chrome was having a similar problem at some point which I put in a special case for; I did not apply the same logic to other browsers. I'll try doing that at some point... but it requires server changes I'm not set up to make at the moment. I'll update here if anything changes.

Hmmm,
I use Firefox exclusively, so when I need new maps of the Spinward Marches for my game, Iuse the Traveller map poster maker.
IMTU, the Federation of Arden is still expanding to the size the OTU had it. They only just recently "took control" of Tremous Dex.

But I've had no issues using that application to create my maps.
I did a border update as recently as 1 month ago.
