Here's a short article on the "War is boring" blog about counter measures to the new generation of battlefield laser weapons currently in development.
All the Traveller standards* are there; ablation, smoke and aerosol etc. The one I found interesting though was "Hacking". The author proposes neutralizing lasers as a defensive weapon by hacking their networked sensors. In this sense hacking covers not only getting into the computer network to introduce a virus or DNS "attack" but also traditional jamming.
* well no sand yet.
