Hope I'm posting in the right place.
I'm 44, been playing Traveller since 1984.
Mostly I create ships and visuals for the game and I enjoy cheating with Traveller Character Generator also! Occasionally I actually get around to playing. In real life I'm an art director and photographer (http://www.behance.net/rollo)
I also am able to use Unreal Tournament / Deus Ex engine design software, so I have started to create the classic ships from Traveller as "life-size" environments that players with a copy of Deus Ex, can explore online and fight or interact with each other on. I started this as a way of resolving combat aboard ships, but I could map out any base or starport, although there is a limit to how big a multiplayer map can be, and also how many players present at once. The whole thing is free, all you need is a copy of Deus Ex, which retails for around $1 on ebay. Deus Ex is quite suitable to represent the Traveller universe in some ways, particularly the single player version can be won without killing anyone, so it has that non-lethal intelligent, philosophical and entrepreneurial aspect to the activity too.
Does this interest anyone, to be able to play First Person Action RPG online, in maps which are ports from 2D to 3D of the Traveller universe and machinery?
Also, I just wanted to pop by and say Hi to all and introduce myself!
