Freelance Traveller Seeking Wargame Articles

After an enjoyable experience at the 2010 TravellerCon USA, an idea was left in the back of my head. Unfortunately, many things have conspired to make it unlikely that I will ever get to do anything with it. So, herewith a request:

I would be very much appreciative were I to see some experienced players write and submit to Freelance Traveller the following articles:

1. A review of Full Thrust
2. A review of Power Projection (which was derived from Full Thrust)
3. A non-review article comparing the two, discussing the differences
4. A non-review article discussing how to adapt either or both games to the various eras and rulesets of Traveller

4. A non-review article discussing how to adapt either or both games to the various eras and rulesets of Traveller

Hi Jeff,

I don't understand your request 4, because Power Projection _is_ Full Thrust Traveller, specifically High Guard merged with Full Thrust. Rules are avalable for all High Guard, MT and T20 ships to convert to Power Projection because it's Traveller.

Best regards,

Ewan

The impression that I had gotten from my brief exposure to FT at TCon was that PP was essentially a simplification of FT for CT; I wasn't aware of the MT or T20 conversion rules. That does, however, still leave out TNE, 1248, T4, GT/GTIW, and RTT, of the published versions.

Yes, but then there arn't Traveller rules to convert between the genres, so why would there be PP rules?

Best regards,

Ewan

I'd hardly call it simplified... PPF is more than twice as thick as FT! The actual rules, while in a larger font-face, are also more than double the length in word count. It takes a base of FT, and tacks on more stuff; it's a superset including FT, not a subset of FT.
