MGT Only: First Aid timeframe question on Reddit

I think the issue is that there is sealing a gash/ setting a bone first aid and magic minute omg don’t let them go into shock first aid.

So perhaps a clear delineation of terminology between the two, say first aid vs emergency stabilization.
I think a list what to do when certain things happen and the timeframe it needs to be done in would definitely fix the problem.

Maybe like a Damage Taken table:

1.) One attribute at 0
2.) Two attributes at 0
3.) Three attributes at 0

And the timeframe to give First Aid for each. To go into more detail would require a Hit Location and not everybody uses that.

And you could expand it to give the Medic more to do.

1.) One attribute at half normal
2.) One attribute at 0
3.) One attribute at 0 and one attribute at half normal
4.) Two attributes at 0
5.) Two attributes at 0 and one attribute at half normal
6.) Three attributes at 0

I think that would fix the disparity and define the difference better.

I make the 1/2/3 0 stat distinction in my QND medical rules, so certainly onboard with that mechanic.

How about this?

First Aid Damage/Injury table
  1. (1D Rounds) Good Condition - One attribute at half normal (Just a flesh wound)
  2. (1D Rounds) Good Condition - One attribute at 0
  3. (1Dx10 Seconds) Fair Condition - One attribute at 0 and one attribute at half normal
  4. (1Dx10 Seconds) Fair Condition - Two attributes at 0
  5. (1D Minutes) Serious Condition (Surgery required) - Two attributes at 0 and one attribute at half normal
  6. (1D Minutes) Critical Condition (Surgery required) - Three attributes at 0

What are QND medical rules?

A thread I posted- https://www.travellerrpg.com/threads/qnd-medical-drama.36341/

Note that it’s enhanced with hit location but is not necessary if the ref is comfortable calling the effects.
