FFS2 for CT

Providing detailed design layers in support of Traveller is a strength of Traveller.

Folks on the TML and COTI have told me that Fire, Fusion, and Steel 2 is more like TNE than CT/MT.

That's okay. What I'd like to know is what parts of FFS2 can be used -- perhaps with modification -- as a layer under CT's starship design.

Take Book 2. It's a set of finished components for small starships. I would like it to be the output of a technical architecture system close to the level of Fire, Fusion, and Steel 2. Since there may be FFS2 experts in this forum, I'm asking for opinions and suggestions.

What parts of FFS2 could be used? What in FFS2 would need to be changed? And how can I use this resource in a way that causes the least amount of change to CT Book 2?

I doubt Book 2 ought to be slavishly adhered to; on the other hand, there are some key defining traditions that I would really like to preserve: for instance, the Type A Free Trader ought to have a Jump Drive A, Maneuver Drive A, Power Plant A, Model/1 computer, and cost around MCr37.

Once you get past the broken formula fonts in FF&S2 there are quite a few improvements over FF&S1, e.g. the hull tables, the re-introduction of the MT reactionless thruster.
And the jump fuel percentage has been returned to the CT 10% per jump number.

That's right, I forgot about the evil jump fuel percentage canonical heresy.
