Opinions please. Which are the best, worst, just ok.

The FASA stuff, anything by the Keith brothers is wonderful. Uragyad'n of the Seven Pillars is great Lawrence of Arabia fare, The Sky Raiders trilogy, perfect for Indiana Jones, Lara Croft, or Relic Hunter fare.

Gamelords- Again the marvelous Keith brothers. Duneraiders is a fave of mine.

The Judges Guild stuff ranges from ok to really, really bad. You have to be careful with this stuff. Drakne Station, keep the maps, throw out the rest, and you can make a decent adventure.

The FASA stuff was meant as a free-wielding adventure series that the cerebal GDW would not accept. So the Keiths turned to FASA and turned it into their personal publishing house (notwithstanding, Mr. Wiseman's formal ownership ;) ).

Personally, if I were choose adventures I would opt for Keith folios done by Marishal. They are short enough for 1-3 hours play. Just the bare bones are inserted and the adventures keep players guessing.

But out of the FASA adventures...no doubt...the Sky Raiders trilogy is one of the greats.

I kinda liked the Undersea Adventure from the Gamelords offerings, as I was able to build upon the tensions in the subsector from the Reaver's Deep sourcebook (Cargonaught Press).

Get these if you can. It's weakness is that it's quite linear, but if you have _ever_ watched Raiders of the Lost Ark, you'll know all you need to keep your PC's in line. Far and away the best third party adventure(s) released for any verison of Traveller.

i'm a big fan of "ordeal by eshar" , fasa's first adventure . the eco theme seems a little tired nowadays but the situation is excellent . it's a lot of work for the ref if you role play all the characters called for on the base , lots to remeber and keep consistent ( good book-keeping essential ) but very rewarding too . a good mystery and a balance of different types of play .
imho the judges guild stuff is mostly rubbish . the 3 parter ( can't remember the name ) is ok .

If you are looking for a good JG traveller adventure. Go for Darathon Queen. It has a tpe M liner loaded with crew and passengers from any airport movie. There are three scenarios, one with an alien monster, a bombing and a mutiny. The main joy are the crew and passengers - all they need is the singing nun with the guitar.

Cheers

I always thought Startown Liberty was the best of what I have seen so far from FASA and Gamelords, but I have only seen about half of their stuff all together. One of the best parts is the two page write up on how a GM should deal with any given encounter. Some of the best GMing advice I have ever read. You could easily fill a couple gaming sesions just generating and playing out the encouters in that book.

Just my take,

Rob

JG- Drakne station, its got a large asteroid spaceship in it. It gives you a decent map to play with for future adventures.
