What It Is
It's a human enclave, settled at least a millennium ago under circumstances lost to time. There are a few interstellar colonies scattered across two subsectors; worlds in Athwa Subsector have only recently been settled, the most important world being the Corlano system. The trailing subsector, Calida, is named after the capital world of this enclave.

Calida and Athwa Subsectors are 30-plus sectors away from Charted Space. I don't even know what direction.
