Eurisko/Doug Lenat

Hi, I'm a newbie.

Sorry if this is an old topic, but does anyone know where I can get any info (i.e., stats, USPs) on the fleets created by Doug Lenat and Eurisko for the '81 and '82 TCS tournaments?

I swear, I've had a copy of TCS since it was first printed, but I'd only heard of Eurisko/Lenat a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks.

DaveShayne, thanks for that link, I hadn't thought to look there. I did, however, and didn't find anything - alghough all I did was search through the TOPIC and CONTENTS files for certain keywords.

Well it may never have been hotly debated on the TML before. It's come up in passing a few times since I've been on the list (2 years) but only in the oh and this happened sense. No detail.

I'm trying to think of other places to look that might have the designs and such. Perhaps the Missouri archives? Sorry I don't have the url handy I think they may be linked to from the travellercentral page but I'm not sure.

I am increasingly of the opinion that RPGs are by the nature of their creation subjective phenomenon. due to the interaction between game designers, game masters, and game players all definitions, rules, settings, and adventures are mutable in acordance with the uncertainty principle as expounded by Heisenburg. This is of course merely my point of view.

Somebody on the ct-starships list just sent them along. I'm posting them here with some formatting damage:

There is also apparently a version of this available in the ct-starships group on yahoo.
