Ellipsoid worlds?

UWP atmosphere code E (14) indicates an ellipsoid world. This is an egg-shaped world with different atmospheric coverage depending on the location of one on the world.

My question is:

*** Where are the ellipsoid worlds in the Traveller OTU? ***

I know of the following:
  • A
  • Anomaly (world) - Anomaly/Argi (Dagudashaag 1633)
  • B
  • Blue Ellipsoid (world) - Blue Ellipsoid/Trufor (Amderstun 3128)
  • E
  • Easter (world) - Easter/Concord (Solomani Rim 1802)
  • K
  • Khiinra Ash (world) - Khiinra Ash/Kaskii (Core 2916)
  • N
  • Nguma (world) - Nguma/Ushra (Dagudashaag 1613)
  • Nisinasha (world) - Nisinasha/Banasdan (Solomani Rim 2812)
  • R
  • Reidan (world) - Reidan/Reidan (Foreven 2925)

Please help. Thank you!

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

I think you mean Atmosphere F.

Code E is "Thin, Low" where at "sea level" the atmosphere is to thin to breath. You must go into deep, deep canyons to be able to breathe as the air pressure is dense enough to be tolerable

Code D is "Dense, High" where the pressure at "sea level" is do dense to handle, so reverse situation, only tolerable at the highest mountains.

Code F is "Variable", where that may fit better...

Based on T5 codes anyways.
Nonetheless here are all the Atmosphere E and F worlds I have from travellermap.com

Actually, that depends. The definitions you give above appear to be unique to the MgT ruleset. All previous rulesets (IIRC) use the following definitions:

Code D is "Dense, High" where the pressure at "sea level" is do dense to handle, so reverse situation, only tolerable at the highest mountains.

Code E is "Ellipsoidal", where the world itself is "egg-shaped", while the atmosphere remains spherical. This leads to a situation where the "poles" are at near vacuum, but the equator is to dense to breathe. A band at each of the opposing mid-latitudes contains an atmospheric pressure that is breathable without aid.

Code F is "Thin, Low" where at "sea level" the atmosphere is to thin to breath. You must go into deep, deep canyons to be able to breathe as the air pressure is dense enough to be tolerable
EDIT: I stand corrected. I just looked at the T5.09 document, and it uses "E" for "Thin, Low" and "F" for "Unusual", as you noted. So T5 and MgT are in sync. Since TravellerMap is based on T5 data, I presume Ellipsoidal worlds would indeed be classified as Atmosphere code "F".

My question is:

*** Where are the ellipsoid worlds in the Traveller OTU? ***

On TravellerMap, use the search code:
uwp:??E*

EDIT: Based on the edit of my previous posting, you would want to use: uwp:??F*
General search syntax for TravellerMap is located here:

A Sector Hex Name

E Solomani Rim 1802 Easter

Easter is the "classic" ellipsoidal world (hence the name), but the T5SS data still lists it as Atmosphere type "E". If T5 is using "F" for Ellipsoidal and other unusual worlds, then perhaps all of the "E" and "F" worlds need to be re-vetted.

Yes, I was thinking the same thing.

A number of the old atmosphere code E worlds should now be F worlds.

Maksim-Smelchak.
