Anybody have rules for Green Martians, Red Martians, Plantmen, White Apes, etc.? The only sword and planet stuff I have ever seen done for Traveller was Jack Vance' Tschai.

I take that back. John Carter was, of course, written up in 1,001 characters, as revealed in Citizens of the Imperium.

Still, he's not much fun without Tars Tarkas and Dejah Thoris, etc.

Yes, WoM, but also other stuff.

I have (from other discussion boards) a PDF of "Doc's OD&D Barsoom Game) which is written up like one of the old OD&D supplements, and which is based on Warriors of Mars, but integrates it more fully into RPG (vs WoM's wargaming bias) and the OD&D rules... and David Bozarth's "Glossary" which goes through all the books and compiles the descriptions and information on all the races, etc.

There is also a document from Dragonsfoot with the interpretations of a couple of the more prolific posters there.

Because of the gravity of "Barsoom", only the vastly over-muscled White Apes are going to approach normal Human strength. The "men" of Barsoom, whether Red, Yellow, White, or Black, are going to have physical stats similar to the Darrians, and the Green Men will be only slightly stronger.

All are going to have similar INT and EDU to the Human default.

SOC is going to be almost Vargr variable amongst the Green Men.

Culturally, Large Blade, Small Blade, Slug Pistol, and Slug Rifle are the only personal weapon skills. Grav Vehicle and "Equestrian" will be common, with, IIRC, Wheeled Vehicle being the lonely minority for the farmers and other professions Burroughs rarely mentioned.

You playing the original world with Traveller, or are you playing the Barsoom in the Solomani Rim with a big Edgar Rice Burroughs influence.

Interesting that in Gurps: Rim of Fire, the world Barsoom is mostly divorced from ERB's legacy other than they say they don't know where the name came from.

That's no fun.
