I was focused on sunglasses since I have to get a new pair when I saw this posted on the Telegraph.

I was like OH Cool! something straight out of William Gibson's "Bridge" series stories. Made me think of all kinds of cool Traveller sunglasses.

Just to be clear -- the glasses pictured are Oakley THUMPs, not the upcoming Google product. The Google glasses are described as looking something like the Oakleys, except that they aren't (necessarily) sunglasses.

Google seem to have decided that the future isn't coming fast enough. Anybody else out there keeping track of their self-driving car project? They apparently hope to have something commercially available by 2013.
