[CT+] Imperial Science Stations.

I'm compiling a list of Imperial Research Stations, and have so far come up only with Alpha through Eta, and Omicron. This makes 9, including two separate listings for Epsilon.

This list will include Name, Location, Date Established, Purpose, and History or current Status.

There are also 4 Solomani Research Stations, and the two Psionic Institutes that had their charter revocations revoked.

Are there other canonical Imperial Research Stations?

I don't have Adobe's SDK anymore, so I can't give you more info than that at the moment. If I can figure out a way to automate the extraction I'll give it whirl.

Should I bother with the JTAS cd ?

I've done the Adobe search on the entire CTCDROM several different ways, including "Classified," "Project," "Research," "Secret," "Science," "Scientist," "Station," and the name of every letter in the entire Greek alphabet and Hebrew alephbeth. So, JTAS would be my next choice.

Not only do I need a comprehensive canonical data base, but I need to know what Stations do not already have a specific purpose. I call dibs on Research Station Omega!

well alas my system isn't working well.

Keklas, when you open (any) a CT PDF does your FILE menu have the option SAVE AS TEXT ? Mine does, and on a different PDF from the web it works just fine, exporting the entire thing to text. But with the CT PDFs I get a zero-KB file.

There's also other tools out there that'll convert PDF to text, however they're not always pretty.

I've dumped a significant amount of text from the Milieu-Zero PDF to text so I can read it when I'm not around a computer. Printing the PDF is barely legible, and I can format text into something easier to look at.

Anyway, give the SAVE AS TEXT a try. Looking at the document properties I don't see any restrictions, but I certainly don't know Adobe very well.

I have to say that while I am mostly satisfied with the CTCDROM, it's that word "mostly" that becomes the operative term. There are some PDFs on that product wherein the text is actually a random matrix of ordinary text font, and a graphical representation thereof.

In other words, to copy Library data, and paste them into a player's hand-out, I've had to virtually re-type entire paragraphs verbatim from what shows in Adobe 8.0!

So if you were to try a Save-As-Text, you would likely be disappointed with the results.

Back to topic ... Research Stations Gamma and Omicron seem to have the most commentary on the WWW. The rest have either a single line entry, or nothing at all except their name and location. This means that some of the canonical Stations can be more fully defined to fit the needs of a gaming group. I have something special in mind for Omega...
