Corridor Nobility - developing worlds

Dagrill

SOC-13
Hi,

As a recent addition to the Corridor Nobility I am aware that some other recent appointee's are already working on developing their worlds.

As we are not limited to land hexes on our homeworld I was wondering if any other Nobles were planning to take hexes on Corr 1005 Mount?

Firstly, I was thinking I would take my first 8 hexes as the 8 city hexes on Mount.

Secondly, I am considering asking for at least one of my land hexes to be on the Client State on New Vland and requesting that my military purchase a suitable J5 warship to maintain communications.

Thirdly I'm somewhat confused as to what I need to do to develop the planet
page 93 indicates I need to industrialise, whilst page 436 indicate a high population is sufficient to improve the status of the planet to a County. My own inclination would be to develop the tech level.

Kind Regards

David

Being a mere baron among all the counts, viscounts and etc, I don't know how much weight this will have.

I started the worldbuilding and fleshing out of Lemish, first. Working out the details of the system based on the Travellermap.com data. Going through the worldbuilding section starting on page 426 of the BBB has been fun. One needs to know where the land is, before one can set up where the fiefdom lies.

The land hexes do not have to be on a homeworld. There are plenty of worlds in most systems to locate a fiefdom on. I kind of get the impression the non-mainworld hexes are the Emperor's way of getting us to develop the properties. However T5 has not released any terraforming rules yet. We can generate planetary maps, work out the orbits, but how to get from say, an atmosphere from say a 9 ot an 8 or a 7 to a 6, we are still working on.

(However, one of our members here did work out how much atmospheric processors would cost in RU's based on some T4 rules. But the rest of the terraforming is still undefined at this stage.)

As for dictating the purchases for your military, there has been some discussion about what the noble pays for out of his pocket (i.e the 10 grand per hex per trade classification) and what gets paid for out of taxes (which gets into Economic extentions, and another set of features that for T5 are not as well defined yet. There is only so many pages in the BBB, it couldn't include everything.)
