Attention all contributors to the Wiki

Only for the sectors for which the T5SS has been finalised, I'd say. Though, I wouldn't mark pages for deletion, just put them in the "Non-canon" category.

I play CT/MT classic era and I try to place non-canon data in the wiki as needed. I have no idea if anyone ever reads it but it is there. How different is the new version that it would erase the past? Not being critical, just ignorant.

I appreciate your posting (or writing new) articles for the wiki; some of the non-canon entries inspire short scenarios easily.

The point I was trying to make had to deal with two vastly divergent articles centered on the same hex in space.
take a look at http://wiki.travellerrpg.com/Northstar_(world) and the discussion page to see what I was trying to get resolved.

With the recent(?) and ongoing T5SS data inclusion on TravellerMap, we look to be either deleting or over-writing a bunch of entries.

Hi Stefan,

The Wiki is charged with covering materials with all sorts of canonicity, from fully canon OTU, hermeneutic-compliant, via Marc Miller to down to materials which are distinctly non-canon. Darkhstarr's materials are much admired and largely non-canon, for instance.

I don't recommend overwriting or deleting anything. Enhancing or improving, sure. But overwriting or deleting, not so much.

Thomas Jones-Low is the head of the Wiki, appointed by FFE, so I defer to his decisions on these matters. I would ask him if you have any further questions. He has been very good about answering my inquiries although sometimes it might take him a few days. He has an involved day job. Plus, he's one heck of a nice guy.

In general, I try to store older materials on a "meta" page and make the surface (up front) pages as T5SS compliant as possible. I noticed that pattern from Hans Rancke, one of the older, very stalwart fans. RIP.

That's my 10 cents. Please note that while I am an active Traveller Wiki volunteer, I am not the guy in charge.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

We are all in charge... but then all of our work is subject to revision... and that is why I consider myself a "Minor Imp of the Ministry of Information and Communication"...:)

Good point.

Still, I have a pay grade representing a junior ensign (...or worse), not a boss-man... LOL ;-)

Wrote you some ideas at the Wiki...

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.
