Anyone going to Origins? June 26-29

Anyone else going to the Origins gaming convention in Columbus, Ohio? It's coming up fast.

I'm going to be there. In fact I rather 'have' to. I'll be helping run the Columbus Micro Systems Booth and the LAN Gaming machines. If any travellers would like to stop by and say "Hi!" I'll be there all day Friday from 8 to 5, except for about an hour around 12 or maybe 1 for lunch.

I'll also likely be there saturday morning and some of Sunday. It depends on what's happening and who there is to hang with and chat about games

A friend is "trying" to get me to go because he's going to be shorthanded running some demos in the WotC area. Unfortunately, I can't make it this year on such short notice.

Could not get into any of the T20 games.

I'd drop most of my other games to get into a T20, if anyone wants to run one.

Heck I might even be able to get 1-2 other players to come.

Okay first day for me done! Some good stuff, Tri-Stat core rules for $1 , Gurps Traveller Humaniti is *out*

and I picked up GT:Rim of Fire, PP:Escort, and a copy of TNE for $10.

Didn't get any gaming done except for some demos, got most of the shopping out of the way.

Ran into some old friends I'd not seen in a while and got to meet Eak. Sorry I was a bit tired by that point and was looking for a lost member of the group I was with. I forgot to mention the other cool Traveller stuff I'd bought and the fun dice. I now have a d20 of DOOM!

I'll try to get in on a game of something Traveller if there are any. I'll be wearing a red Capcon convention t-shirt. It has a Renaissance Maximillian type knight on it. Usually be looking around for more stuff to buy, waiting in line for autographs or to hear the guests talking, or playing a demo.

Just walk up and mutter something about Traveller and CotI. [EDIT: text deleted]

If'n I don't see yas np; looked like there was plenty of stuff going already and attendence seemed better than last year.

Welp didn't say any Traveller folk on Saturday and nobody came up and intro'd themselves. Eak said she didn't see anyone either. Oh well. Maybe next year huh?

I picked up GT: First In on the 2nd day, another copy of Tri-Stat Dx for $1 , more dice , a G.I.R. plushie for cheap, and a really cool d20 monster book Monsters of the Endless Dark illustrated by Andy Hopp . He doodled a 'lil monster in my copy. Woot! A very cool book full of creatures you could use in T20 even IMO.

I spotted some neat pre-painted science fiction miniature figures at the Crystal Caste booth under their eM-4 line. 5 pre-painted figures for $20 and the paint jobs look good for that price. I plan on picked up the mercs and the Dunwich Detectives.

On the way home I picked up the first two FLCL dvds. All in all a good day. Hope to see you next year!

As I said in Random Static, I couldn't make it this year? month? Now, IF I ever get a job, I may show up next year or the year after (though this plan may be WHY I don't get a job). If I do, I'll show up on a Sat or Sun.
