Another thing that came up (can you tell we're actually playing now?)

A character started as a Marine and did 2 terms. He then changed to Agent. Then he was given an assignment to act as ... you guessed it, a Marine.

Anyhow, his two terms as a Marine used Str and Int as his CCs. But, Agent has a choice of 4, C1 through C4.

So, how do we handle changing careers? I can see 3 ways:

First, the characteristics could be considered independently part of the profession. So, which CCs you picked in profession 1 have no bearing at all on profession 2.

Second, the opposite extreme would be to track each characteristic separately, so until all profession CC possibilities are completed, none can be repeated.

Third, there's a kind of in-between position, where the ones used in profession 1 can't be reused, but the others in the new list are fair game.

Thoughts?

Hi,

I think the second option is most appropriate to stop people changing careers just to get to use their best skill for checks, although the third option works for me as well.

Kind Regards

Option One.

I as a Referee go with the first option. Remember they still have to Roll Continue and the former Marine has to worry about that 2 which means back to the marines for a Term.

Now if they safely make their Continue they may choose to try and Begin another Career. Note however, they still have to Roll Begin to get in.

Also, no matter how much they hop around Careers to keep using their good CCs, those Aging rolls are waiting...always waiting.
