Based primarily on the MegaTraveller Air-Raft but it also has shades of the Classic Traveller A/R and other influences including my Vauxhall Astra

It's to replace the grey blob under my 'Wedgie'

oh, it's obviously not textured yet

That is just amazing! Where can I order one?

I now see why you wanted the Ling Standards logo. Very nice touch. To make it even more, you might want to download the Bilandi font and use that instead. (Bilandi font can be found here.)

Hot damn tamale! Those seats sure look comfy... I can just picture a TV advert for one of these! :D

Great work, 'crow!

I actually plan on mocking up a Ling billboard advert for a bit of fun =)

Daryen - Yeah, I have the Bilandi font and I'm planning on using it for the textures. I may change the 'LING' to Bilandi. I quite like it in English though.

<passer-by looks up at billboard advertising newly introduced grav vehicles to his home world>

"Oh you sweet thing....I wonder if it comes in maroon on teal green? Wooof! Who do I have to "off" to get one of those babies...arhooooo!"

I was just about to comment that the steering yoke was on the wrong side...

Very nice.

That's like looking at a US car and saying that everyone on planet Earth drives on the right ;)

I'd imagine that different planets drive on whatever side of the road (assuming air-rafts even need roads, that is) they like. Heck, we're on one planet and we have left-handed cars driving on the left (they do that in the Caribbean, which is kinda crazy) and right (like in the UK), and we probably have right-handed cars driving on both sides too
.

It looks great! But... ;)

The open door on the rear view looks out of proportion to the door cavity (ie: door is too big). Also the reflection/shadow doesn't appear to show the open door. Could just be me and it'll straighten out with the texturing though.

Nice job though!

Does look a bit odd, now you mention it...

I think the door is actually visible in the reflection on the floor - it's a linear pale area jutting out at about the right angle, starting from the reflection of the footrest.

It's a Vauxhall!!! Use the Vauxhall logo!!!

I bet it's got one of those *&$£@@!!! alarm on it that goes:

Nee-naa-nee-naa-beeep-beeep-beeep-whooop-whooop

at 3 O'Clock in the morning!

(Ahem)....sorry, got carried away there....

It's an excellent rendering, well done scarcrow.

What's next - the air/raft equivalent of a Cavalier?

The only thing that bugs me about it is that the layout of lights at the back looks like what you'd see at the front of the car. Maybe that's just because there are no red or orange tinted lights there though.

Sheesh!

I disappear for a couple of hours and see what happens =)

Okay, about that door... Now you mention it, I can see what you mean. I can, however assure you it fits perfectly. As do the other three of which each are exact copies. It looks like a trick of the hull shape from that angle.

As for the reflection - well, yeah. It's probably a falloff issue. I haven't messed about with the settings or anything, I just plonked a raytrace reflection in there for a laugh so it's not perfect yet. These renders are really just to show the modelling - the texturing and proper lighting are yet to come.
The rear lights, yeah. I don't like 'em and I may well lose 'em. There's too many for a start and they are too big.

As for the future - well, no that's it. I just wanted a classic Traveller style angular air-raft to sit under my Wedgie in the renders.
I do plan on doing a nice curvy sealed raft (think saloon version of Ford 'Ka') to sit in the vehicle bay of my Florian Scout but I have to finish the ship itself first!!!

Glad you all like =)

PS

As for the steering column being on the right - well, I'm British and it's what I'm used to. I can easily flip it but then who's to say there won't be right-hand drives in the future?

Oh I believe it fits, just looks a little strange. Perhaps when the texturing is applied it will 'fit' better ;) Honestly though it doesn't really detract from the work which is excellent!

As Malenfant pointed out you can kind of see the reflection, its just not as obvious as the other reflections. Again no real biggie.

Glad you all like =)
Its definitely a great job!
