A wiki update to the Mikhail (Varan) sector

I've done some significant editing on the wiki page for my custom sector. I had a lot of excess and duplicate information. It has been consolidated, rearranged, and with luck flows a little better.

It is still a work in progress, with world write-ups and other information to follow.

See the link in my signature.

Feedback is appreciated.

Varans must have genetically modified hands. Can you develop that story a bit further? Also, they appear to be longer lived than "typical" humans. Is this more genetic tinkering?

....ah, the Pandissol Plague caused all this. Okay.

I like the "berserker" theme to the Shattered Worlds region. Does this correspond to the Shattershard subsector?

The political system seems to be a kind of corporate state model. Is that correct?

I like the "base 36" calendar concept.

Finally, I really like your pioneering work in very high tech (TL16-20) human civilization.

I read Saberhagen many many moons ago. Man, those Beserkers were intense. :)

Actually, I based the Shattered Worlds (in the Shattershard sector) on my interpretation of the Ancients war. I wanted an adventure tie-in to my own version of that war. I never did run Quest for the Ancients in my campaign.

I already have at least one player that is VERY interested in getting there, having seen the "briefing document" on the wiki. He didn't catch the "Ultim-8" (ultimate) pun in the intro, but his eyes lit up at some of the hooks the document supplies.

The general political system is essentially a corporate state. After the Winnowing, it made sense to do so from a survival standpoint. In some ways, automation has slowed growth, but there are two heavily-populated dry worlds that are training grounds for colonists. Expansion is about to start again, and it will be interesting to watch the subsequent political climate.

I appreciate the feedback and questions. Still a ways to go, but I'm getting there.
