A little help naming a few worlds and moons, please?

I've run out of witty or clever inspiration, it seems.

I've managed to name most of the system, but need a helping hand or several to name the others, for a tournament adventure.

The system is hardly colonised or occupied, is within known Imperial space, but this is slightly non-canon.

This is what I have left to name...

Several worlds and moons nearer the star have already been named.

Further out in the system is where I ran out of ideas...

Gas Giant Size T (predominantly red with visible storms), with moons as follows:
Ice world = X130000-0
Ice world = X434000-0
Ice world = XADA000-0
Rad world = X6A9000-0
Ice world = X500000-0

Gas Giant size X (A mix of colours, not dissimilar to Jupiter with storms), with moons as follows:
Ice world = X699000-0
Big world = XFCA000-0
Big world = XEF8000-0
Big world = XFFA000-0
Big world = XGFA000-0

An asteroid belt,

Large GG size U (predominatly blue in colour, wind lines akin to saturn), with moons as follows:
Ice world = X598000-0
Ice world = XA7A000-0

Finally, on the outer edges of the system...

Rad World (almost seems to be glowing a dull red colour), with moons as follows:

Rad World = X630000-0
Worldlet = X000000-0
Rad world = X573000-0
Worldlet = X332000-0

Any ideas, please?

I suggest going to Google Maps and pick some obscure corner of the planet and pick names of places that sound totally exotic. Simple, quick, and works good. Maps of ancient civilizations work good too.

Thanks; Got another good suggestion from someone on another platform, actually.

Adrian Ford said: One way is to consider the culture that the first settlers came from and name the worlds after places, ideas or themes that are important to them. If you look at America, many of the big cities are named after the towns which the first colonists came from, ie New York or named after famous and powerful people of the time, ie Virginia (Virgin Queen Elizabeth)

So, I'm using a combination of both ideas.

Again, many thanks :)

The Captain of the colony ship named one world for the women in his family. So the GG is Amanda with moons Betty, Charlotte, and Denise. Some historical research will reveal the names of his grandmother, aunt, and two nieces - but not his sister. (Vaguely inspired by Five Sisters Subsector / Spinward Marches)

Famous explorers, especially for far-orbit worlds. Amundsen, Cousteau, Scott, Perry.

For a 2300-inspired game, I rolled up one system with a Neptune-size GG in far orbit and named it Adams' World, after the cousin of the US Presidential Adams family who helped discover Neptune.

Name them after the cities along Route 66 from Santa Monica to St. Louis.

It's as arbitrary as anything else.

Definitely grab this list. It's great and has either a perfect name or the inspiration for one. It helped to cure my tendency to -os every name (Halos, Theros, Mandos etc...)

Well, you could certainly have one area where many worlds have similar suffixes, because they were all colonised by the same cultural group. The world names don't all need to be 100% independent of each other, and perhaps realistically they shouldn't be.
