Sheyou is classed as an agricultural garden world with a near-ideal, utopian environment conducive to most humans As an agricultural world, it produces foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. The system serves as a major exporter of foodstuffs for the local Zhodani economic cluster. Due to the system sitting astride the major communication and trade routes, its economy and population are rapidly growing. The living conditions are expected to incrementally rise also impart to the heavy Zhodani Navy and Military presence. Originally settled by humans of Vilani and Solomani stock in the early days of the third Imperium .
Politics, Culture and Society
Zhodani assimilation has slowly and methodically taken shape over the last five centuries with not only the introduction of ethnic Zhodani, but also the assimilation culturally and politically. The world has a population of 10 Million of which 27% is pure Zhodani genetic stock, the remainder a mix of Vilani-Solomani descended humans. Keeping within cultural sensitivity there are two self governing client states, (containing 19% of the total population) within the over all planetary government. Each client state has its own down port run under the system starport authority. Both client states are home to a non-assimilated demographic slice of the original settlers. There within Psionics are not embraced and the use prohibited. It has been forecasted by the planetary government that the economical and social advantages of assimilation with main stream Zhodani society will continue to siphon off a steady stream of residents from the two client states. Within three to four generations the client states will be absorbed in the planetary government as regional councils. The planetary government which controls 70% of the worlds surface operates along traditional Zhodani norms. It is widely known that the system is a designated colonization point for discharged veterans. Sheyou's interests are directly represented in the the Querion Cluster Regional Council.
Economics
Agriculture has been the mainstay of the economy for the planet aside from stimuli the economy receives from the heavy military presence. In the last two centuries light mining and refining of the planetoid belt has grown by double digits. Light industry to support localized production of goods has double digit growth. This has not supplanted the Agricultural base for the economy specifically the raising of a transplant Noql amphibian for consumption.
Planetary Defense Forces
Land Forces Command is a Corps Level Command with 8 brigades organized and equipped to tech level 10 standards. The force is manned at 50% active duty personnel, the remainder are reservists who are called up for seasonal training and annual exercises. Aerospace Defense Forces Command has a deep site meson gun, 4 Squadrons of Aerospace Interceptors, 2 Squadrons of Strike Craft and 2 Squadrons of Transport Craft, 5 Planetary point defense battalion groups. Maritime Command has two squadrons of surface vessels that patrol and operate in the shallow seas.
The system contributes a brigade of lift infantry at tech level 10 standards for off world operations. The provincial counsel subsidizes a squadron of tech level 12 System Defense Boats for system patrol and defense.
Consulate Naval and Military Forces.
On Sheyou's moon Chadrati the naval base is home to the 183rd Colonial Cruiser Squadron and the 74th Frigate Flotilla. The Naval Base is presently expanding in order to support the larger regular naval vessels as well as patrols for maintenance, supplies and or as a port of call. The Military Base and separate Protected Forces Training Ground, located on Drelrlanschaf, a moon orbiting the systems sole Gas Giant, is home to the tech level 13- Colonial 476th Lift Infantry Division, the tech level 10- 4591st Colonial Lift Infantry Brigade (Sheyou), and the tech level 11- Colonial 3112nd Lift Infantry Battalion, which is specialized for protected forces environments.
