Well yes to some extent, for example random event cards which represent a random events table that you roll a dice for however I like the idea that you can draw an event card and then tactically or strategically play it then or at a later time.

There was this Thoth engined card & dice game, I don't know if it is still around though.

Default Statistical anomaly

How did this thread, with 12 posts (all from 2010) get 200'000 views, more than three times that of the next most viewed thread (the "Who Are We?" one)?

The only thing I can come up with is that it attracted a lot of search engines with its title, but this still doesn't explain the sheer anomaly. :P

My guess is that at one point in the past the search engines made it a relevant link. There is a post mentioning the Magic CCG - big audience there. For anyone doing an internet search they came, looked, and realized this had nothing to do with the Magic CCG and moved on. Now the thread is revived. Who knows what will happen?

Cool ...the conversion game...

When you do a lot of playing with TRAVELLER as opposed to playing someone FTF, it does get tiresome rolling and looking at charts.

One innovation I came up with was to let kids roll the dice for me. I made up a game with three dice, and to win, they had to roll doubles or triples. I used those throws to assign skills to my characters in generation. Sneaky, eh?

One homebrewed game I originally made as a board game is something I call STARFIGHTER. Originally it started out as a board game, with a tactical display and charts. My alpha testers thought it was fun, but I quickly saw the limitations of a static display. So, I made a conversion to a card game.

Life gets in the way, so I have not had a chance to playtest the card version. If there is interest, I will post details.

I put the trade system with an appropriate mock up image on cards a while ago, and it makes the trade system ( i forget what source list i used, i think it was t20) flow with a vegas style randomness, and is pretty fun! I also left the lot amount rolls on the cards so pcs can still roll dice, too.

I plan to update the set soon, but i kind of have to start from scratch, as my hard drive was destroyed

It's these ones:

I think these have been corrected and reformatted right, so that if you print out a stack of the last page, flip it over, and then print the card image side, you get a matchup, and all the cards will come out with the 3 hex and trade route image.

Wow, I forgot I had even started this thread. Where does the memory go lol

But with 200,000 hits I think my premise was correct that Traveller could have done well as a TCG/CCG, someone missed the ball on that one.

Cool Baron Saarthuran when I get a chance I'll check out your cards

Default Traveller T5 Trading Cards

There are some really neat tablet and phone Trading Card games being developed. It would be worth hiring a professional team to make a T5 Trading Card game.

Might be fun to create a card game to handle the spaceship combat in the game.

something based off of High Guard perhaps

There were several spaceship card games being developed

Here is Battlestar Galactica

I'd buy that for a dollar!

I use cards in my game with all the various programs on them for ship computers. Shuffling them around as needed gives the computer/navigator player something to do, and helped tremendously with getting players' heads around the system.

That sort of thing right there can be adapted to a larger card game. Range banding, too, for both personal and ship combat works well with cards. Give players "Dive through air whilst firing two blasters" for -2 to hit/+2 defense, and add a range band change to increase of decrease range, for example.

Dang - something like that could really help with the T5 and Mongoose combat rules, too. Mongoose's in particular seem highly adaptable for it.

Lemme know if you want help or at least when the cards are ready so I can get a set.
