Default Plexxans

Anyone ever read a comic series from the 80s named American Flagg! by Howard Chaykin? A big corporate player in the first plotline was "the 'Plex."

When the Agent is activated aboard the Stalwart, starting on page 38, then a few pages later we are introduced to 'Plexxans'. At that point I admit I wondered if Marc had read Chaykin, back in the day.

Could be a coincidence, of course.

Plex was a word used a lot in the '80s. It was more about future entropy in graphic novels. I'd say Plexxans are another thing entirely, unless they lived in archologies.

Could be spontaneous co generation.

The polity known as the Plex was basically a Ramshackle CoDominium with Soviet/US elites hiding out from their Earth management disaster on a Martian colony, trying to run things by the cheapest remote societal control devices they could come up with.
