" Tyger, tyger, burning bright" is the title to one of William Blake's more famous poems. Blake was one of England's "Romantic" poets, and one of the best. He was also one of the finest, if not the finest, engravers that England ever has produced. Along with this, Blake was also a committed Christian at a time when committed Christians were in short supply in England, the Church of England notwithstanding. Some of his poetry works can be found on Project Gutenberg.

The poem opens and end ...More Read More

I started making this post three times on different subjects, but never got beyond the header. Then, at dinner, my wife wanted to show me a Facebbok post that a couple who are friends of ours had put up. July is National Bereaved Parents Month. That couple had lost a son to suicide, and are still dealing with the loss. Readers may find this shocking, but that is normal when you loose a child, regardless of the age of the child. We buried our first son in May of 1985, and the pain is still ...More Read More

The Babylon Bee ran one of its satirical headlines saying "Federal Judge orders Jewish Baker to make a cake saying "Death to Israel"for an Arab man for a birthday". To tell the truth, I am surprised not to have seen an actual headline like that already. If someone tried it, Denver would likely be the best site, given that headaches of that one Christian baker who keeps getting targeted by the gay community. What is being done to him is pure harassment, but because it is all individuals, he k ...More Read More

Whew, I have gotten way behind in posting here. I keep thinking about more non-politically correct ones, but reading about the idiocies of the current administration is not exactly enjoyable, so I have not been working hard to keep up. I have been working on the sector, and some other stuff to publish, more on that in a later post, along with getting my wife through this second extended tax season. Presently, she is taking some time off and is at Disneyworld, with my brother-in-law and his w ...More Read More

I guess the baseball season must have started, as I read that the erstwhile Mayor of Chicago was booed loudly at Wrigley Field. I have not watched a game of the Cubs since they won the Series, legitimately over as 162 game season, not whoever won that disaster that was last year. Since the over-muscled, under-brained babies started refusing to stand for the National Anthem, I figure that I will not accord them any respect and so no more watching the woke babies. They do not seem to have any ...More Read More

It appears that the administration is planning to require everyone to have a Covid Passport in order to function in society, following the action of the erstwhile governor of New York State, who appears to have an enormous craving for power. I have had both shots, but as for getting a passport, no way. I will be more than happy to join a class action lawsuit against this, especially if the administration tries to do this via executive order. And the Democrats called Trump "authoritarian". It has been a rough couple of weeks. Last week, a pastor friend of ours died due to a combination of the virus and pneumonia. He was an old-fashioned country preacher, who loved the Lord with all of his heart and mind, and who was a solid teacher of the Word as well as a very good preacher and pastor. His funeral was this past Saturday, but with it being 5 hours driving time away, each direction, we were not able to make it. It was Standing Room Only in the church, with all of the people he ...More Read More

I have been following, through text messages from one of my cousin's, how his sister, obviously another one of my cousins, is doing fighting pneumonia. I know, how terribly old-fashion, pneumonia, not the latest and greatest thing. She has been in and out of the ICU, but has finally improved enough to move to a rehab facility. As she is only a couple of weeks older than me, I have been more than a tad concerned. Another frustrating thing is that she has been hospitalized not that far away, ...More Read More

An individual on the forum, who shall remain nameless. asked the question if the United States should be regarded as an Amber Zone. That is beneath the dignity of the forum to ask such as question. Where was this individual when Antifa was busily rioting all last summer? His/Her/Its political leanings are extremely obvious.

As for the answer to the question posed, it is an unequivocal NO. Now, if the individual wished to ask the question regarding Russia, then the answer may be yes, wi ...More Read More

Well, we have a new president. How long he will remain so is a good question. How long his handlers can hide his cognitive decline will last up to the first meeting with a foreign leader outside of the White House. Then it will get interesting. As for the claim of having respect for the military, you might want to check on how the National Guard, still in Washington, is being treated. Note, you will have to do some digging, as the so-called "mass media" is not covering it, which does confi ...More Read More
