Default Scum and Villainy

Oh my. Not sure if anyone has heard of Blades In The Dark. It's a group-based game of a thieves guild coming up. Faction war mechanics, "scores" and the like. I like it although it's a bit on the Apocalypse World-side as that was a big inspiration. But, man, with the right group it would really be something special...

Then someone hacked it for sci-fi. Only the Alpha is out.

It's got some interesting mechanics and it carves out some of the Blades In the Dark bits like holding "turf" and such. But it looks pretty dang cool. I wish they would have kept the Crew Goals diagram in place but oh well.

As a bonus, a person could easily steal some of the ideas (not mechanics) and port them over to a sci-fi game of their choice. The Entanglements, Downtime Faction actions and the Faction War/Relationship stuff is all of use to someone in any game really.

Regardless, Blades In The Dark looks amazing so the end-product of Scum/Villainy is likely to be impressive as well.
