Talking New Sectors differ from Judges Guild

I'm an old old timer and am starting up a new compaign. I picked up some old Judges Guild sectors (Lay, Glimmerdrift, etc) and also downloaded the map packs from here (ie:http://www.travellerrpg.com/cgi-bin/...=header_t20&s=). Imagine my surprise when I compared the old maps to the new ones!

Seems like the new ones are totally different from the old Judges Guild published ones, with exception of Crucis Margin. Is anyone else familiar with this situation? Did the universe shift into a different dimension when I wasn't looking?

Hmmm...
