1. It is in the stateroom, but I could easily get it and take a shot from the balcony.

2. Absolutely no reason in the world why he would want to ... I was just amused that the character actually had it within his power to change world history ... That doesn't happen that often ... It was an amusing realization.

PS: the balcony comments should have been a separate post. I had changed topics and was speaking about Jeb wanting to both see the PoW and avoid being put to work. Upon rereading the post, I see how the last line could have been interpreted as a struggle about whether to shoot the Prince or not ... that was not my intent.
