Just did this. Activated Adobe Reader, put in the cd. Exalted on another computer.

Yes, you can (at least on a friend's computer). You take the CD to his machine, fire up Acrobat 6, open the Ebook, activate it on his computer, and you can read it there. Takes all of five minutes if it doesn't have Acrobat on it, or about a minute or two to activate if it does.

I'm not sure whether you can activate an ebook on a computer that isn't connected to the net. If that turns out not to be possible then I would agree that this would be a somewhat major flaw of the format.

I'm almost certain you need to connect the machine to the internet to activate DRM for that machine; once that's done I doubt it needs to be connected.
