[OOC: When Fergus says "a lot further back on Control Ave. toward the end by the bulkheads," is he referring to the same location Anders was talking about when he said "there's that last big cross-corridor about half a klick on in from here, if you take a right and go far enough out, it has that one emergency airlock"?]

No, the corridors that Anders was talking about are still in the pressurized section. The unpressurised areas begin another half klick or more down the avenue.

Check the Nexus-Under: Physical Layout in the SBRD Wiki.

[OOC: Thanks for the link. Something I'm still unsure about...if you were to travel from Hotshots to the section Fergus is talking about, would you go in the same direction as the one you would take to get to the section Anders described, or would you go in a different direction?

In other words, would you pass Anders' section on the way to Fergus' section, or would you go the opposite way down Control Avenue?]

[Passing down Control Avenue, you would start at the airlocks near the Traffic Control center; further on back you'd pass HotShots; further on back you'd pass where Fergus was working; eventually you'd come to a bulkhead w closed pressure doors and a Do Not Enter sign. On the other side of those pressure doors, Control Avenue would continue on back into the mountain aways, but would be unpressurized.]

[OOC: OK, let me see if I have this straight, because it will affect the choices we make going forward. It seems that between Anders and Fergus, we have three possibilities as to where the Protectors and their henchmen could have gone in their pressure suits:

1. According to Anders, they could have gone down Control Avenue, taken a right at the "last big cross corridor," gone "far enough out" and exited through an emergency airlock. This, however, would not have been wise unless they had "clearance from the top."

2. According to Fergus, they could have gone all the way to the bulkhead and entered the unpressurized sections.

3. Alternatively, also according to Fergus, they could have gone all the way to the bulkhead and exited to the surface.

If Fergus, is credible, then the right answer has to be #2 or #3, because Fergus claims to have seen the group suited up somewhere between the last big cross corridor and the bulkheads, meaning they apparently did not take a right and head for the emergency airlock.

Do I have the basic facts correct?

Niven hands McLean folded CR100 note. "Thanks, Fergus. I think your little trip down here saved us a lot of time." He passes a second note of the same denomination. "A little advance on any further information you may run across on the same subject."

He sees McLean off and returns to the bar, motioning Victor and Wilson to a back table where he turns on his portable privacy field.

"Well, we have two choices--outside or the unpressurized sections. I don't have any reason to prefer one over the other. I suggest we visit the locks in question and visit with the personnel to see if anyone remembers six men and a cargo container passing through last night. In the interest of time, we could probably split up--but we could also get dead."

"Victor--does anyone with Fortunate Son have the ability to query online systems at Nexus-Under in an attempt to find clues that will help us zero in on one of our two options?"

[GM posting for Vladika under Four Day Rule. Vladika, if you read this and want to jump in and take control of Victor, just do it.]

When Niven has explained the new info that he obtained from Anders and Fergus, Victor nods decisively. "Excellent work, Mr. Niven. I suggest that we three reconnoiter a bit further up this Control Avenue, perhaps separate and each pick out some likely prospect to hit up for further info along the directions suggested by Fergus McLean, staying within sight of each other so as to provide backup in any confrontation that appears headed for a fight. Then we rejoin, go pick up the equipment that Mr. Niven has obtained for us, and hotfoot it back to either Mr. Niven's pub or my own accommodations to meet with our - ahem - friends from the ship, to see if the lady has gotten anywhere with data, umm, penetration, and to plan our next move." He looks from Niven to Wilson and back. "Sound reasonable?"

If Niven and Wilson agree to the plan, Victor tells them, "I have some cash supplied by, ah, Mr. Fox, if either of you is short of what you think you might need for, erm, motivating compliance of informants to be encountered. I assume that each of you is armed, as well?"

[Quick question by GM: I believe I have Victor's weapons down; he has one pistol visible, holstered. Niven and Wilson are both sufficiently familiar with concealed weapons to be aware that Victor has at least one more pistol concealed; I don't recall at the moment whether that is a shoulder-holster or middle back. What weapons, if any, do Niven and Wilson have showing?]

[EDIT: For SType: Harris Niven is yours now, but as I originally envisioned him would have at least one primary handgun (either autopistol or gauss pistol, most likely) either holstered at hip or else in a shoulder-holster or middle of back. He would also have carried a concealed backup pistol, either a body pistol or derringer type. You can either go with this, or tell me what you would prefer.]

[Heather]
Her first step in attempting the dangerous task of probing Triad security cameras is to determine whether or not they exist, so Heather takes a casual stroll up and down the main corridor, window shopping and visually scanning for hidden (or visible) cameras with a particular attention to key checkpoints/control doors.

An EM scan of broadcast wavelenths (assuming that she has the tools) may help identify wireless data streams from cameras.

In addition to looking for the obvious security cameras and broadcast data, Heather will check for more routine broadcast data ... like comm feeds from vacc suits and routine video comm terminals (video pay phones).

Before attempting the crack Triad security, she will attempt to access the public comm system and just eavesdrop on routine calls to see whatever might be visible in the background. Perhaps she can access video feeds from empty vacc suits just hanging on a wall with some sort of virus/trojan.
