Default Scout?

Any rumors about this book? I'd very much like to have it, and it's supposed to be released this month, but it's no where to be found.

On the Mongoose forum, Matt Sprange announced that Scout is at the printer and should be
delivered to Mongoose any day now - and that was a couple of days ago.

I'll say this for Mongoose - they are cranking out the titles at an impressive pace.

That's the one thing that has stopped me from picking up any MGT. Living in Japan there is no way I want the hassle of trying to return an errata-ridden book to the merchant concerned - so I won't be getting any MGT until I can actually pick the books up and look before buying.

I dunno why the stuff goes out with errors in the first place. Don't they proofread? It's gotta be cheaper than a returns policy.

Hell, if they're that short-staffed, get them to send the stuff to me - I'd probably proofread it in exchange for a copy and a mention in the credits, and I'll bet I'm not the only one.

From the looks of it and the bugs in the last "big" publications like HighGuard it looks like Mongoose (still?) has a serious problem with quality control. The errors in the books, both layout and spelling are quite obvious and should have been caught before delivery. We are not talking minor spelling errors here we are talking spelling errors big enough for a non-native with less than sterling spell-checking sees on first reading and layout-errors that jump in your face simply browsing the pages like theblockoftextwithgraybackgroundandnowhitespace or the missing/wrong ToC.

With GURPS Traveller as the last Traveller version I played before Mongoose
Traveller, I really cannot complain about the production standards of Mon-
goose Traveller. True, they can and should be improved, but compared to
GURPS Traveller (not to mention some even much worse other Traveller ver-
sions), I find them within the acceptable part of the spectrum.

The issues that caused this have now been dealt with - as you will see from the likes of Beltstrike, Scout, etc.

That sounds ominous.

I'm looking forward to seeing Scout.
