As a reference to the Proto-Traveller project I've decided to begin the work on a list of Traveller products relevant to it, in order to ease our data-collecting research work. The main criterion (sp?) here is of the book being published before (but NOT including) 1983; The one big exception is High Guard, produced in 1980, which is nevertheless opposed to the spirit of Proto-Traveller with its implied huge-ship universe universe. Also excluded is S9 - Fighting Ships, which is from 1981 but is High Guard-centric.

So, there we go:

Classic Traveller Books (LBBs) 1-3, 1977
Classic Traveller Book (LBB) 4 - Mercenary, 1978
S1 - 1001 Characters, 1979 (?)
S2 - Animal Encounters, 1979
S3 - The Spinward Marches, 1979
S4 - Citizens of the Imperium, 1979
A1 - The Kinunir, 1979
Snapshot, 1979
A2 - Research station Gamma, 1980
A3 - Twilight's Peak, 1980
A4 - Leviathan, 1980
S5 - Lightning Class Cruisers, 1980 (isn't it too HG-centric?)
S6 - 76 Patrons, 1980
S7 - Traders and Gunboats, 1980
S8 - Library Data, A-M, 1980
DA1 - Annic Nova and Shadows, 1980
DA2 - Mission to Mithril and Bright Face, 1980
(Judges' Guild) Darthanon Queen, 1980
(Judges' Guild) Tancred, 1980
Book 0 - An Introduction to Traveller, 1981
A5 - Trillion Credits Squadron, 1981 (isn't it too HG-centric?)
A6 - Expedition to Zhodane, 1981
(Judges' Guild) Crucis Margin, 1981
DA3 - The Argon Gambit and Death Station, 1981
DA4 - Marooned and Marooned Alone, 1981
DA5 - Horde and Chamax Plague, 1981
Striker, 1981 (does that fit the PT spirit?)
(Judges' Guild) Simba Safari, 1981
(FASA) Ordeal by Eshaar, 1981
(FASA) ISCV Leander, 1981
(Paranoia Press) SORAG, 1981
(Paranoia Press) Merchants and Merchandise, 1981
(Paranoia Press) Scouts and Assasins, 1981
(Paranoia Press) Beyond, 1981
IISS Ship Files, 1981
A7 - Broadsword.PDF, 1982
A8 - Prison Planet, 1982
S10 - The Solomany Rim, 1982
S11 - Library Data N-Z, 1982
The Traveller Book, 1982
(Gamelords) Lee's Guide to Interstellar Adventures, Volume 1, 1982
(Judges' Guild) Corsairs of the Turku Wastes, 1982
(Judges' Guild) Darkling Ship, 1982
(FASA) Rescue on Galatea, 1982
(FASA) Adventure Class Ships Books 1 and 2, 1982
(FASA) Merchant Class Ships Books 1 and 2, 1982
(FASA) Aslan Mercenary Ships Books 1 and 2, 1982

Much as I like them, I have to agree that Azhanti High Lightning and Trillion Credit Squadron don't fit the proto-Traveller spirit.
