Default Missiles and Launch Rails

Okay,

I was looking at the CT SS 3 Rev. Missile Rules. It inspired me. Also I really loved SFB. I saw a Fighter that had 1 Missile Rack and 12 internal missiles. There is the Torpedo FB that carries 2 Torpedoes.

So, I wanted to adapt the SS3 to MgT and make my own missiles and put them on Launch rails. However, I needed some opinions on how to implement the launch rail fighter system. Also, I was going to use different sized missiles. Probably 2x and 4x the size of regular missiles.

I like the fusion missiles, but where so you place AM missiles (more powerful?)

AM = antimatter? if so definately more powerful and also way beyond 3I technology

The launch rails would have to be designed for a specific missile size and couldn't be used for different sized missiles. They would also be more easily damaged as they are outside the vessel's armour. Aslo not reloadable.

Don't know enough about SFB to help with the conversion

I wasn't completely worried about the OTU But I was curious on how to rank the Anti-matter missile. Reloading would have to be done on ship. The torpedoes are carried inside tubes, so I was envisioning the missiles carried inside similar tubes as well. Fire Control would have to rule how many targets could be acquired.

ex. SFB F-14 in MTU

1 * Fixed Mount Pulse LAser
4 * LR Missile (2x size)
2 * Standard Missile (2x Size)
2 * Basic Missile (1x Size)

Optional:
2 shot - rear mounted Anti-Missile "Chaff"

You could put the missiles in an armored box launcher like we currently do with the Harpoon anti-ship missile and Tomahawk cruise missile. For reloads, you have a reload box similar to the Japanese WW2 reload system for the Long Lance torpedoes. You have the reload box aligned with the firing box, open the rear of the firing box and the front of the reload box, and then have the reloads automatically rammed into the firing box from the reload box.

For a smaller size missile, put a jettisonable guide rail on the smaller missile. That was the method used to fire 19 inch diameter wire-guided Mark 37 ASW torpedoes from 21 inch submarine torpedo tubes. If you want to reload the missile magazine box from the interior of the ship, have the missile rails in the box on an elevator and lower that into the main part of the ship's hull.

That is all pretty standard practice. It will add some to cost for the additional missiles and loader, but I do not see any problems with it.
