In trying to work up a back-story for some of the characters in my upcoming Traveller universe, I find I need to identify certain conditions to fit their life’s story. Is there a web site where I can conduct a search on one or more UWP listings?

For example: If character XXXXX was raised in a feudal society, (possibly a critical factor in the campaign) is there any way to punch in a search on all planets whose government is a code 5? Once found, can I do another search to find out which feudal planets are a specific law level or tech level?

Or, am I going to have to go through all the web sites and look at every UWP out there? By the way, are the UWPs written in concrete? Or, have some rewritten those UWPs to fit their version of the Traveller universe?

Cool

Try this one-its got the spinward marches, and a few others:

http://www.utzig.com/traveller/iai.shtml

Most of the UWP's are 1100's era. And the marches have the greatest detail.
Plenty of F-tech worlds there.

Hmmm
Much as I like the IAI, it doesn't allow searching for specifics, does it?

I have downloaded the (e.g.) spinward macrhes data into an excel spreadsheet, then sorted by column to find what I'm looking for,

There are LOADS of online sectors & domains, usually in .TXT format, just search for a few odd names in the sector you're interested in.

hi!

Well, I currently have 36 or 37 sector's of data online on my website - http://www.mega-traveller.com - and I currently allow you to pick a sector, then either enter a name, a TL, or a LL. I could easily add a Govt Type for you... I think it would take about 15 minutes to set it up.

Hope to see you online...

Added the Govt Type to the search engine for you, Loki... I even translated the hexadecimal value to the meaning (i.e. Govt Type: D - Religious Dictatorship).

What amazes me is how many captive govt types there are in Core Sector... And check out:

Sector - Core
Sub-Sector P - Saregon
Hex Location 2837
World Name Igla
UWP B414ADG-F
StarPort B
Planet Size 4
Atmosphere 1
Hydrographics 4
Population A
Gov't Type D
Tech Level F
Law Level G

TL15, Law Level 16, AND a Religious Dictatorship - in *Core Sector*?!??! Scarey... The Jim and Tammy Faye Baker Planet...

This is searchable on every sector online...
The output is a sector map with the systems that match your search criteria highlighted and the rest of the sector looks normal - you have to see it to see how cool it looks. I've gotten a lot of positive feedback on the Imperial Atlas...

Hope that helps...

Liam-Devlin and mega-traveller : I wish to thank both of you for your information. Mega-traveller: I really appreciate your additions to your database. I wish I was as well versed in tweaking computer applications. I use to be pretty good on the Macintosh FileMaker Pro but have moved over to the PC platform and been a player more then a do-er. Your program really makes it easy to find the specifics of certain planets that can be woven into a PC’s back story. I need to go back and explore your site. It's one I missed when I started compiling my list of sites to visit.

Now if I can just figure out the BTN computations. Thanks to you both!
