First I've ever seen of these. Goal is cataloging what's in use, not making new stuff up.

MgT (Mongoose Traveller) also occasionally appears in older posts and in posts by me as RTT (Rikki Tikki Traveller, an indirect non-derisive reference to Mongoose via Rudyard Kipling).

Regarding TARFU, SNAFU, and FUBAR, the entire FU-sequence that I learned, in order of increasing FU-tility ( ):

SNAFU - Situation Normal All [Fornicated] Up
BOMFU - Beginning Of Major [Fornicate] Up
TARFU - Things Are Really [Fornicated] Up
GATFU - Getting/Gotten All Together [Fornicated] Up
FUBAR - [Fornicated] Up Beyond All Recognition

As this thread concerns abbreviations, what does SRD mean when referred to in the context of Mongoose Traveller?

Longest/strangest abbreviation I have seen on this forum:

IYKWIMAITYD (I think it means "if you know what I mean and I think you do")

Hmmmmm ... Dean's categories are useful if you're looking for an abbreviation to USE; but if you're looking to decode somebody else's abbreviation, you may not know which category to look in.

I think there is probably a need for a strictly alphabetical listing as well.

Oh dear ... have I just inadvertently volunteered for something??

Nobody actually said that... :P
(Actually, it probably isn't all-compassing, but large anyway)
The format is being discussed.
