Well, that's the story, but I'm having trouble buying it. The final MGT combat system looks to me like it was thrown together at the last minute and there are a number of issues and flaws that make me seriously doubt that there was any extensive playtesting.

If there *was* extensive playtesting, then I think that Mongoose should consider getting a new set of playtesters.

Anyhow, the MGT combat system looks exactly like I'd expect a last-minute, sparsely playtested revision to look.

Details to come after I've completed my workout of the system.
