Hampton, upon smelling the hint of vomit wafting through the bank of flapping air fresheners hanging in front of the crew lounge vent calls Kalos on the bridge, "How much fuel do we have in the tanks right now? If we have enough already to jump out of the system then scrub the scoop. We'll finish the outer inspection as we head to port. I want to air out the ship and the scoop might be too rough for these people."
Shaking his head he decides for the hundredth time to make it a rule that passengers take anti-jump sickness meds at least 24 hrs prior to the estimated drop-out time. Before the carpets are so bad they have to get them all removed anyway.
Hampton heads to the bridge. If Kalos has the fuel figures and they show at least half a tank of fuel then we will contact traffic control and inform them that we are heading in to land.

After relieving Henry and setting in the course for the scoop, Kalos begins browsing the local news, market reports, and adverts from various brokers, keeping an eye out for any interesting work.
He also contacts the port authority, making the arrangements necessary to bring the Fortunate Son into port.
Upon taking the captain's call, he quickly takes a reading on their remaining fuel.

Kalos spots some interesting tidbits on spot-prices for trade goods similar to some of what Fortunate Son is now carrying as speculative cargo. Before he can complete his analysis and report to the Captain, he will need to look at some history on those prices, which is not included in the data-dump already received.
One point to consider, however, is that Kalos has never been to this port before, and does not know whether or not the port's data service can be trusted not to report any queries to local brokers, which might give those brokers useful information about what the ship is interested in, and therefore what the ship might be carrying. Kalos has been in this situation before, and is savvy enough to disguise his interest by asking for history on a wide variety of trade goods, not just the ones he really wants to know about.

The Fortunate Son is still about 45 light-minutes out from the port, so Kalos can't have a direct conversation. However, he can send them a recorded message giving the ship's planned course and ETA, and some 90 minutes later expect to hear something back from them. Real-time conversation will have to wait until the ship is closer to the port.

There are 73 tons of fuel currently remaining in the tanks. (50 tons for one more J-2 jump, plus 23 tons for 46 days of power-pant fuel.)

David agrees, and stands up appearing much more steady as he escorts Doc to the door, thanking him for his assistance. David also hands Doc a card with David's contact information on Devonia, asking him to please feel free to call if David can be of any assistance to Doc in the future.

[OOC: OK, since Kalos found more than half a tank I will assume that either Kalos or Hampton has now sent a message to traffic control informing them of planned course and ETA. I believe that Kalos already programmed a course for Devonia; so is the ship starting toward Devonia now?]

Donoma's computer wakes her again upon notification of a landing time for the Fortunate Son. She makes note of it, and confirms her calculations. While she's checking the data, she sees the updated arrival time and says to herself "Well, that was a quick dip, or they decided against a refuel."
She notes they still haven't posted a cargo manifest or any broker requests other than normal, general requests. She also notes two hits on her job posting, one from the ship.
"I'll go by the port tomorrow morning and start asking questions."
Donoma resets her alerts for any changes to the boards, and prepares for the day. She has two courier jobs today that will pay the rent for the week. Hopefully it will be the last week's rent she'll have to pay on Devonia. She dresses for business (and arms herself) and heads out.

OOC Does Doc have any idea before this card what David does?
Taking a look at the card, Doc thanks David.

Henry gets about finishing the job, and barring issues, will get back inside the airlock.

Henry and Gayne climb over the top of the Bridge Deck and down to the starboard scoop, with no problems as both are competent at EVA operations and no unforeseen difficulties arise.
The filter cleaning procedure also goes quickly and easily as planned.
From 100 diameters away, the huge gas giant Peytonia looks no bigger than any other planet seen from a proportional distance. It looks a lot like a big marble with swirls of mostly yellow and orange with a few other colors mixed in. The star Whitney is a tiny, very bright white spark.
Both men climb back over to the portside airlock on Quarters Deck and cycle through to the inside.
What next?
