"OK, so we've got a week in Jump, and my ship has just had annual maintenance so needs minimal checking that the techs didn't fritz anything up."

"Any of you like backgammon? I programmed Chives too well, now he always beats me, which may improve my game in the long run but isn't much fun as a time killer. Game, anyone?"

To Smith, still chuckling:

"Hey, do I look armed to the teeth? Or is it the 'government assassin' default expression that you are talking about? Seriously though, a couple of professionals can keep the amateur claim jumper at bay. Kinda like why we lock our doors. A lock won't keep out a professional, but it works pretty well at deterring the amateurs."

To the room in general:

"As long as that backgammon isn't for money, you Rangers are absolute sharks. Anyway, I am a certified hand to hand instructor and willing to give free lessons during our jump for all interested. Waddayasay? A couple hours a day working out? Couldn't hurt, could it?"

"Naw, just like to play to pass the time. Like I said, I'm used to playing against Chives, and he doesn't even have any money. Sure, I'm in for some daily unarmed practice, although as I recall it generally does hurt in new and interesting ways, or else you're not learning anything."

Default Got to keep the game going, of course

Hearing the conversation of Frank Masuda with Markov/Martel, Djer approaches them, chuckling. "Backgammon, I hear? Well, my personal specialty is chess, but in seven Terms at the University of the Thirteen Towers you end up dabbling in all those games a bit. I haven't played backgammon recently, so it'd be fun to pick it back up, and it's always good to play board games, keeps the mind active during these long hours of jump, much as Mr Markov's combat training keeps him active I suspect."

Frank tells them that the holo-tables in the lounge can play either 2-D or 3-D chess, or backgammon, or any number of other games.

Arrow So many games are played.

From the looks of it you all spend the week either working out or playing various games in the lounge. Does that sum it up?

Oh and the maps should be in the Systems/Worlds folder in the ADSGD/Library in the DropBox.

Openly, yes. I will be studying the Intel materials in my cabin as much as possible. Hoping there are intel updates for me at our next port of call.

Depends on how you define 'fit'.

Intel like:
Most of that should be in the Library.

Most of that can be found by the craters where the Abonai Forces dropped munitions on them. As to central mainframe, well the Voodgi have TL-8 so they have a distributed computer network. The Depot Command Center should be marked on the Colony A map.

Again that should be in the Library and your briefing.

Nice, funny man. I meant the computer system, water purifiers, etc. for the Abonai forces. The little Voodgi get screwed with enough.

EDIT:

Notes for further inquiry:
Layout/Defenses/reaction forces at Orbit C penal colony. High Value Targets for liberation?
Is Orbit F usable as an operation base? Can the Ranger put this pig down on a mining colony without a beacon?
Can we sneak into Orbit 7 for a solid search/mapping?
Recruiting/resupply at Orbit T?
Need to make strike at Orbit H monitoring station. Esp once Royal forces reach outer system.

Need better intel/maps/satellite pics/HUMINT on C, F, H, T and more info on stealth capabilities of this boat.

pp 10-11 Collected Astrogator's files.
