Question

This overlaps with TWLIGHT's question as to whether anyone had translated 2300 into another system, but I'm curious: has anyone tried using GDW's house system (d20) via TNE's "Fire, Fusion & Steel" (to convert the kit)? The stackable, term-based development of TNE (T2KV2.2, Dark Conspiracy) seems practically made for 2300. A great strength of the system was the potential backstory you could develop during character generation; for example, you could start as a Tunisian guttersnipe, enter la Legion d'Etranges for a few terms, go back to school, get a law degree, serve in Le Corps Diplomatiqe, and muster out as a wealthy traveller with beaucoup des livres and a ship just in time for the GM to screw you by stranding you on Aurore.

Check out Gerry Harris' site http://www.aethertraveller.com/. I'm not a fan of the TNE / "House System", so I haven't looked into the site in detail but it looks pretty good. Plus I think some of the other 2300 techies who frequent the two Yahoo Groupshave also looked at porting at Least FF&S 1 to 2300; or is it the other way round?

Probably me, I've used FF&S to design 2300AD vehicles (quite successfully I might add, reverse engineering the canon designs gives a good fit).

These are FF&S ports:

http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~dh...man/BritCW.htm
http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~dheb/2300/USMM9.htm (kind of, it's not FF&S, but FF&S was used to check it)
