I like it, looks like a more modern version of a classic if that makes sense.

Does flattening the hull reduce the height of the cargo area and hence make carrying cargo containers impossible? Or have you retained the internal height?

Having said that I like the lines.

this version would lose some vertical space, but since the way I had worked it out in my head the drives and powerplant are moved to the nacelles and tankage is moved to a belly tank, the overall cargo space stays the same.

I have worked up two versions, one flattened and one with the original fatter body shape.

what I will probably do is use the flatter body shape for a light, or fast trader, sall hul, similar sized engiens for longer range and Higher thrust.

Nice. I like the fatter shape. It looks better balanced and more aerodynamically 'clean'.

I was pretty happy with the shape in the fatter version. I was actually surprised by It.

I love the older ships, even after al these years. but I also love playing with the shapes, and styles. It's good practice and it's fun to share.... and I need a lot of practice.
