This is my first attempt to design a T20 starship. It is based on a ship I designed for TNE's FF&S a few years ago.

Description: The Pacifica Class Light Freighter is a rather heavily-armed 200-dTon TL-12 merchant vessel. The ship was designed by popular demand for Free Traders who travel in the Wilds on a regular basis. It doubles as an escort vessel for ships not so armed. The ship sacrifices its passenger-carrying capabilities for increased powerplant output. Because it is designed with a maximum Tech Level of 12, however, its cargo bay is barely adequate for freight hauling because of this. Most traders who purchase this kind of vessel, however, are more into scavenging valuable relics from the former 3rd Imperium and Julian Protectorate as well as speculative cargo runs.

This design first rolled off the Oceanus Shipyard in the former Imp year 1199. Asimikigir's economy has substantually improved since then, and it looks like the world's Tech Level will increase to 13 by next year (1216). Oceanus plans to upgrade all of its ship designs as soon as its shipyards are accomadating to the new technology (mainly smaller fusion powerplants and increased weapon performance). So far, the design is farily popular, considerably more than the Atlantica Class Free Trader.

Hope this helps!
