Default Valerian rant

So, I got my cheapo bluray of Valerian the other day from Amazon, and it's another comic book movie with lots of bright colored CGI.

I shrug my shoulders at it. I think someone over at Steve Jackon Games' forum stated that scifi hit its peak either in the late 80s or mid 90s. And watching Valerian, based on the comic book of the same name, I can't help but feel that guy is right.

I knew what I was getting into with Valerian. I actually did buy a copy of the comic, and having glanced at the French comic, I had an inclination that I was not the target audience. However, Blade Runner 2049 aside, I'm wondering if scifi is now strictly a young audience thing.
